I will never forget my first massage. It was a gift bought for me by a dear friend in Paducah, Kentucky. I don’t know what I was expecting but I certainly wasn’t ready for the almost “euphoric experience.” The extreme relaxation combined with the massage brought on the most wonderful feeling of well-being. A weight, I wasn’t even aware that I was carrying, just disappeared in an instant. I felt refreshed, supple and slept better that evening than I had in ages.
As wonderful as I felt, it wasn’t until two years later that I had another massage. In my head, I saw it more as a luxury or a treat and so only allowed myself to “splurge” and buy a massage on special occasions. Starting my career working in offices, I slowly noticed my shoulders not only rounding but creeping further and further up from sitting at a computer all day. Regular massage helped my shoulders drop and reduced stiffness in my neck. It Improved the range of movement in my shoulder, relieved lower back pain and just made me feel more aware of my posture and well-being. I made a decision to make a career change and what better than to learn something that brings me and so many others so much joy, relaxation and tranquillity.
I want people to know that massage can be an essential part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and that is why Love Your Body Massage has been created.
I hope this will inspire people to not only incorporate massage into their life but also to take time out of their busy lifestyles and do something great for themselves and their bodies.
I am also a Nutritionist, inspiring healthy bodies from the inside and out.
